Stepping into a new season – Part I

Okene

Seasons are time frames allocated for certain things to happen. It is expected, for instance, that during raining season, rain will fall and plants will spring forth. Life is divided into times and seasons. For every new season, there is a purpose upon the earth.

David was a man that stepped into a new season. He was at the backside of life for one season, working and yet nothing significant happened in his life. When the sunlight of God located him, his new season manifested. It was not only a new season for him, but for the whole of Israel. God says you are about to enter into your own new season of testimony, divine health, breakthrough and light.

There are certain facts to know about seasons. Every season has its time allocated to it. No season lasts forever. You may have been in your season of barrenness, poverty, captivity or rejection, but rejoice because it is coming to an end now in Jesus’ name. Every season has its own characteristics and they are visible to men. The good thing is that when your season changes everyone will see and know it. The one who was once barren will become pregnant and the one who was once poor will become wealthy. These are notable changes that cannot be covered.

If you are going through a rough situation right now, it doesn’t mean that God is through with you. It is only a process; you are a divine project in God’s hand.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ,” Phil. 1:6.

God will not abandon you until you become a ‘praise’ on earth. He makes all things beautiful in His time, (Eccl. 3:11). God allows you to go through certain situations, so that, you can build your capacity in preparation for your new season. David was faced with the bear and lion, to prepare him for the Goliath experience that introduced him to the palace. You might be experiencing a delayed breakthrough right now, but God has a reason for it. If your capacity is not built during your wilderness experience then when the blessing comes, it can kill you.

A young man who was going through hard times once attended our interdenominational service. He was very fervent and punctual and a lot of people admired him for the way he carried his wife and children along in fellowship. Suddenly, God blessed him with a fantastic government contract from the state headquarter. His story changed, his new season had set in as he bought cars and landed properties. Unfortunately, he could not manage his new season because he did not build capacity for it. He stopped fellowship, abandoned his wife and started going after ladies with his cars from one university campus to another. He refused to go for counsel even when invited until everything went down the drain. May your blessing not be a curse to you in Jesus’ name. Every blessing God gives to you this season will lift you to serve Him better.
