Optimising your destiny – Part 3

John Okene

You cannot optimise your destiny until you are able to access the plan of God for your life. One of the ways to access God’s plan is through the word of God. Isa. 29:11-12 tells us that the word of God is a book of destiny, and as you daily read through it, it brings light to your path. It illuminates your way through, Psa. 119:105.

Another way to access God’s plan is through heavenly vision. In Apostle Paul’s first encounter with God, he had a heavenly vision, which he held on to and followed closely in his walk on earth. He stated clearly in Acts 26:19 that he is not disobedient to the heavenly vision that he had received. God gives us such vision at certain times in our lives to enable us access His glorious plans for us. Again, you can know the purpose of God for your life through your gifts.

Everyone has a unique gifting and you must be able to identify yours and use it wherever you find yourself. If you are in a church for instance, find out where your passion is. It could be writing in the editorial team, singing in the music department, acting drama or functioning in any of the sound, technical and media department. You could even be called to the welfare unit to give or be a kingdom builder. Everyone is called, but some have a unique passion for that. Identify the passion that burns within you and follow it; don’t kill it!

Nehemiah had a strong passion to repair the broken walls of Jerusalem and he did not stop until the ruins of the city was repaired. Having known the plan of God for your life, you can then optimise your destiny through encounters. Destiny fulfillment must precede an encounter. Apostle Paul had a divine encounter, as we see in Acts 9:1-5 where God gave him a vision and he was obedient to God’s plan for his life. In 2 Tim. 4:7, he could boldly declare that his course in life was completed. He was a man who optimised his destiny. “Encounter is the key that unlocks destiny.” Rev. John Okene

You can get such encounters through the word of God and in the place of prayers. This will launch you to your place of destiny. Another way to optimise your destiny is through the power of courage. On your way to destiny you will come in contact with giants. There will be Goliaths and destiny killers to stop you. There will be people to discourage you too, but you have to keep moving on.
Fearful people can’t fulfill destiny. You need courage to take certain decisions and stand by them.

In Joshua 1:6, God told Joshua to be strong and very courageous because he was going to step into the shoes of Moses, which was actually too big for him. A lot of people could not fulfill their destiny because they were faced with obstacles and, so, they turned back at the edge of their breakthrough.

David was an anointed king, but the road to the palace started with Goliath and until all obstacles on his way were destroyed, he could not manifest his destiny. I pray for you that the courage to pursue your purpose and destiny, may God release it on you in Jesus’ name.
