The Managing Director of Bridge Clinic Nigeria, Mr Sunny Ekhalume has said its Ikeja branch has produced over 3, 000 babies since its 25 years of establishment.

Ekhalume made this disclosure during a visit by the Director of Embryology at Bridge Clinic London, Dr. Marta Perez to the fertility clinic in a move to enhance the quality and reproductive healthcare standards in the centre.

He said, “In our 25 years of existence, we have been able to produce over 3,000 babies and still counting. So, 3,000 babies have come out of their laboratory here, we pride ourselves on saying that we produce one baby every three weeks,” he stated.

Earlier, Perez who highlighted the purpose of her visit to include collaboration with the laboratory team, under the leadership of the Lab Manager of the clinic, Rashidat Shatta, observed that the partnership is focused on hands-on training for embryologists, comprehensive reviews of the quality management system, and laboratory key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance existing processes and identify areas for optimisation.

During her stay, Perez was said to have actively participated in clinical meetings and staff development sessions, delivering impactful presentations and engaging in in-depth discussions, adding that her interactions extended beyond the laboratory, involving doctors and nurses, where she shared her expertise on multidisciplinary teamwork and its positive impact on client outcomes and experiences.

On her part, Medical Director at Bridge Clinic Nigeria, Dr Toyin Ajayi expressed optimism that the collaboration between Bridge Clinic Nigeria and Bridge Clinic London will yield positive outcomes, particularly in the laboratory—the core of IVF treatment.

She said, ‘Not only will it improve the quality of care we provide to our clients and the results they achieve with us, but it will also foster a culture of continuous improvement within our organisation.’

It was further stressed that as Bridge Clinic Nigeria strengthens its ties with Bridge Clinic London, the collaboration promises positive outcomes for the laboratory—the heart of IVF treatment and that patients do not need to travel abroad to access care for IVF stating that the clinic operates the same quality standards that are obtainable abroad.
