Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance and inclusive leadership, especially at the grassroots, noting that the state is ready to support at all times.

Ambode stated this during presentation of N500m grants to Community Development Associations (CDAs), for the promotion of self-help projects in communities across the state. He said real government is at the community level, reason why more priority is given to them by his administration.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance and inclusive leadership, urging the communities to remain selfless to their commitments, as the state is ready to support them at all times.

He said the need for government intervention for the projects have become very compelling, as they were well conceived to help communities.

He said: “Today is historical as interventions to the tune of N500m has been provided for the 275 CDAs, ranging from N1m to N10m. I am happy to note that the volume of this grant is historic and will be a continuous exercise. I am aware that projects ranging from Townhalls, police posts, hospitals and others will be completed. It is my expectation that all the projects covered by this grant will be completed for the usage of the communities.”

The governor appealed to the communities to take full responsibility of all the amenities, “as it belongs to you and not the government. We have being to Badagry and others, if we have not being to your community, we will get there soon.”
