Communities benefit from N7m environmental grant

About 17 communities in Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos State have benefitted from a N7 million grant for promoting proper waste separation, management and disposal.

The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) carried out the project.

NCF received Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) grant to advocate for actions that promote proper waste separation, management and disposal in selected communities.

The initiative is geared towards making the environment sustainable and habitable for future generation.

ACT Foundation was established in 2016 as a grant making non-profit organisation hinged on four pillars: health, entrepreneurship, environment and leadership.

In 2017, 22 NGOs including NCF benefitted from the first grant cycle of the foundation.

Communities were the project was executed include: Sangotedo, Idado, Gbara, Elegushi, Iru/Victoria Island, Agungi, Olugborogan, among others. They were selected based on their proximity to the foundation and their low-income status.

The project was carried out over a period of one year, commencing August 2017.
