The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday officially launched its membership registration exercise in Abuja, urging both existing and new supporters to register as bonafide members.
The party announced that each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will initially receive a minimum of 50,000 membership cards, with additional allocations to follow as needed. Registration will be conducted online, with no fixed deadline at the moment, and manual registration will also be available in areas with network challenges.
Speaking at the flag-off, ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, described the exercise as the beginning of the party’s journey to victory and urged Nigerians to place their trust in ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This registration is a major step towards ensuring that Nigerians have the opportunity to become legitimate members of the ADC. Registration forms and registers will be deployed to every council ward across the 774 local government areas of Nigeria,” he said.
Senator Mark said the exercise also resolves previous inquiries about the commencement of ADC’s membership registration. He emphasized that membership cards will be mandatory for anyone seeking to contest elections on the party’s platform.
The party announced that online registration will cost N500 per individual, while annual dues will also be N500.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by all state chairmen of ADC across the 36 states and the FCT, who were each presented with 50,000 membership cards, registration forms, and registers. After taking their oaths of office, the state chairmen pledged massive mobilization for the exercise, noting that the people are eager to participate.
