The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Kano Operations, has urged consumers to stop panic buying, as products are being distributed under close monitoring by the agency.

This was disclosed by the Acting Operations Controller, Mr. Paul Jezhi, who spoke to journalists during a routine monitoring of filling stations in the state. He said efforts were in place to ensure filling stations dispensed products at stipulated price.

“We have visited 64 stations. Fifty-four were selling at the approved price of N145 per litre. Four stations were placed under seal and appropriate sanctions imposed for various violations ranging from product hoarding, under-dispensing and outright diversion,” Jezhi said, adding that the management of NNPC/PPMC has commenced intervention loading from Kano depot to stabilise the situation.
