Lassa fever: Only 13 persons still under observation, says Delta
Down from a high of 55, a total of 13 persons are now under observation in Delta State to determine whether they have Lassa Fever or not.
A statement yesterday by Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, said the 13 persons would be closely monitored for one more week.
Ukah explained that out of 55 contacts in the state, 32 have been declared free of the disease.
He said the sensitisation and advocacy to councils, primary healthcare centers, schools, market places, among others, would not just continue, but be intensified to achieve the desired result.
The commissioner advised all residents to keep their environment clean and cultivate appropriate sanitary behaviours.
Meanwhile, the state government has approved contract for the construction of Issele-Uku/Onicha-Uku/Ugbodu/Nkwu-Nzu/Obomkpa/Idumu-Ogo roads in Aniocha North Council.
