23-year-old suspected cult member confesses
Twenty-three-year-old Kazeem Tiamiyu, yesterday confessed that he had personally took part in no fewer than killing of five people.
He was until his arrest, a member of the Neo Black Movement of Africa, also known as Aiye Confraternity, adding that his group had killed over 15 persons in Ogun State.

Tiamiyu made these chilling revelations while responding to questions from newsmen during his parade with other suspects at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran in Abeokuta. Tiamiyu, who claimed to be the butcher of the cult group in Ijebu axis, said he withdrew from school following information that got to his parents that he was a member of a cult group.

The suspect also said he had sold many guns to cult members in Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic in Ijebu Igbo and Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijagun both in Ogun State.

I was withdrawn from school after my parents got information of my involvement in cult activities. I denied but I came back to Ijebu Ode to operate with my members. I have so far taken part in five killings, the last one was in 2015 between Aiye and Eiye, but the group has killed 15 people since I joined.

We were told we were going for a birthday party and when we got to the venue, we were told we had to join cult group and were threatened to be killed should we reveal the secret. Other members of the group are students of Tai Solarin University of Education and we moved in groups whenever there was any operation to be carried out. I have never led any operation and I am not the hit-man because anyone can strike since we operate in group,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command had declared zero tolerance for cultism and would not be deterred in fishing out cultists in the state.

‎The PPRO said exhibits such as one double-barreled cut-to-size gun, one single barreled cut-to-size gun, four single barreled short gun, seven cartridges, expended cartridges and assorted charms were found on them.
