Choosing window blinds for the home can be tasking because it can make or break your home’s interior design. Blinds determine the light and privacy of your home. Also, windows make up a large part of your wall space. It is important to know the one that works best for you. Knowing the window blind that works best for you will help you make a good choice.

Guidelines to choosing blinds:
Before picking blinds consider how you want your blind to look. After that, you have to consider the colour, material, slat width, and slat direction.

Blinds material can be found in wood, faux wood or aluminium. You can choose any of those but when it comes to making several colour options, aluminum is the best bet. Blinds never go out of style. So, when choosing blinds, ensure that the material is put in the right place in your home. For instance, avoid putting wood blinds in a bathroom, as the humidity will cause them to warp. Faux wood blinds tend to work best in a kitchen since they are the easiest to clean with just a simple wipe with a damp cloth.

Check the slat width. You can opt for wider or narrower slats. The size plays an important role because it can affect the look of a room with wider slats while narrower slats are more delicate. Wider slats may work well in places that need privacy like the bedrooms. Narrower slats will create more lines across a window, which gives a lovely look for large windows, but makes smaller windows look too occupied.

Lastly, you have to know the slat direction that is best with for window. Vertical blinds are recommended for sliding glass doors, while horizontal blinds are recommended for all other windows as well as picture windows.
