The Federal High Court, Abuja has given the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) a final chance to produce its remaining two witnesses in the ongoing trial of the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Ishaq Kawu Modibbo, Pinnacle Communications Limited and two others over a digital switch deal.
Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo- Giwa, who had adjourned sittings on two different occasions for the same reason, consequently gave the anti-graft agency the last warning yesterday and directed it to produce the witnesses at the next adjourned date of December 3 or risk closure of its case.
The two remaining witnesses slated to testify in favour of ICPC include the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, and a Bureau de Change operator who was subpoenaed by the court.
But the defence counsel had prayed the court to go ahead and close the case for lack of diligent prosecution.
