The Federal Government has expressed its readiness to promote herbal medicine according to international best practices and standards, in order to cure different ailments that defy conventional medicine.

Director-General of the National Institute of Pharmaceuticals Research and Development (NIPRD), Dr. Obi Adigwe, disclosed during his tour of some facilities in Imo State.He said the institute would partner with the management of the STK Biotech Limited, located at Umoba in Uratta, Owerri North Council Area in its commitment to manufacture standard herbal supplements from plant extracts for the treatment of diseases.

Adigwe expressed happiness that the company met international standards in the production and research of herbal medicine.“There are a lot of potentials in what they are doing here. I am impressed that they are able to transform what they had carried out in research into finished and useful products,” he said.
