Stella Obasanjo Hospital Isolation Centre will be best — Obaseki
• Facility Will Reduce Medical Tourism – Prof. Agbonlahor
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has said the government is re-modelling the Stella Obasanjo Hospital Isolation Centre (SOHIC) to be the best in Nigeria, with state-of-the-art facilities to manage Coronavirus.
The governor said this while inspecting the expanded 300-bed isolation facility in Benin City.
Obaseki said: “The facility will be handed over upon completion. This is one of the best isolation centres in the country, with about 300 beds. It is well-structured with input from some of the best professionals in terms of infectious disease management in Nigeria. These experts are from Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.” He expressed appreciation to everyone involved in the COVID-19 response in the state
While praising the state government, a former Vice Chancellor at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Prof. Dennis Agbonlahor said investment in the hospital would witness a reduction in medical tourism.
