Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has approved N12.7 million for frontline health workers who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed made this known in his office in a chat with newsmen.

Mohammed said the money was released as a sign of motivation, saying that it was the state government’s recognition of the impact made by health workers who have played vital roles in waging war against the dreaded disease.

He added that out of the 27 frontline health workers that contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty, 24 of them have tested negative and had been discharged.

“Only three of them are on admission receiving treatments now, and they will also be discharged soon,” the executive chairman said.
