Adamu unveils 250 office blocks Bayero University Senate building

Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, on Sunday rated the infrastructural and academic growth in Bayero University, Kano among global best standard.

Malam Adamu made the accolade on Thursday while unveiling the Abubakar Adamu Rasheed new Senate building at the university’s new site.

The minister who described the second generation university as an epitome of excellence in knowledge-driven and research development posited that the institution has set exemplary feat in the modern educational system.

Represented by the registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professor Isaq Oloyede, the minister Federal government is committed to improving infrastructural development in the education system despite the limited resources.

According to him, ” Bayero University is an exemplary example and model of standard education system Universities can emulate. The level at which the infrastructure grow here is massive. O have seen several research centres spring up and I must applaud the wisdom and determination to build the citadel to high feat.

Executive secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC) Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed applauded the in the ingenuity of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor and university’s community for sustaining academic and Infrastructural development.

Professor Rasheed, a former Vice-Chancellor of the university, whose Senate building was named after, posited that BUK has enjoyed progressive leadership who had persistently pursuing global standard. While appreciating the university’s council for considering naming the edifice after him, he attributed the progress witnessed during his tenure to teamwork and collaboration of his management team.

The outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Bayero University, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello described the conclusion of the 250 office blocks during his tenure as one of the rare achievement, dedicated the success of the project to commitment and dedication of the university’s Management.

Professor Bello who described his immediate predecessor and NUC executive secretary as the architect of modern BUK explained that council considered naming the edifice after Professor Rasheed due to his progressive foresight for the university.

The six-floor building is designed to accommodate offices of Vice-Chancellor and deputies, registry, bursary, council and Senate Chambers and administrative officers.
