The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition holds a public hearing, today, on the petition against the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage (DOAS) by the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN).
Notification for the hearing signed by House Committee Chairman, Jerry Alagboso, is a response to OAAN’s petition against DOAS over its legal status, arbitrary charges on billboards and other outdoor advertising platforms, as well as charges on vacant billboards.
Others are illegal removal of materials and granting of approval to non-members of OAAN and those not licensed by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) to operate in the FCT.
