The Presidency has administered oath of secrecy on 37 staff, threatening to sanction anyone that divulges classified information to the public.
Permanent Secretary, State House, Tijjani Umar, issued the warning yesterday after Justice Hamzat Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court performed the ceremony in Abuja.
He reminded the participants that leaking official information without authorisation amounts to a grievous offence.
IN another development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to London, United Kingdom, for the virtual Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025.
The main opposition party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, claimed that the Presidency was deceiving Nigerians by “trying to hide Buhari’s private appointment with his doctors under the virtual meeting apparently in a bid to launder his consistent failure to honour his pre-2015 campaign promise not to embark on medical tourism if elected President.”
It insisted that the President had no justification to travel to the European nation since the event was virtual.
