Remarking on the academy, Jeje said: “Nollywood is facing significant challenges of professionalism, poor storylines (themes), sub-standard production, distribution, and poor projection of the Nigerian image. This is why a need for a sound film academy is very necessary.”
Jeje noted that the academy whose major objective is to educate, train and build outstanding film enthusiasts was born out of his love to educate film enthusiasts who would stand tall in the industry.
“Anything you want to do in life, you need to learn the process, not just jump into it. I know it’s not everyone that can afford international film schools, so I thought to bring this to the grass root. There are a lot of groups, rehearsal grounds, and others, but this will only teach a few practical. A proper film school will treat the theoretical aspects of it.”
He added: “Hills Media Film academy is quite affordable, as a matter of fact, students stand to gain a lot from the knowledge that will be disseminated, which is worth so much more than they pay. The academy is not just about training but theoretical and practical nurturing of A-list filmmakers, there is the place of mentorship. Right from being students, we begin to expose them to the film field world, by doing so they get used to the film making industry.”
