Nigeria got two medals at the Tokyo Olympic Games, a silver and bronze, won by Blessing Oborodudu in wrestling and Ese Brume in the long jump event.
At the Paralympic Games, the country won a total of four gold, one silver and five bronze medals. Surprisingly, a majority of the athletes that won medals for Nigeria at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games were women.
Speaking at a reception yesterday, Mamador’s Head of Marketing, Chioma Mbanugo, stated that the company decided to celebrate the athletes in line with its vision.

While the duo of Oborodudu and Brume got the sum of N1.5million, the Paralympics team was presented the sum of N5million.
The vice president of the Nigeria Paralympics Committee, CP Bankole Anderson, commended Mamador for the cash and material gift, which he described as big motivation for the athletes. He called on other corporate organisations to emulate Mamador’s gesture by encouraging the athletes ahead and after major competitions.
