debate-podium2The Edo State governorship debate, tagged The Mandate, holds August 16 at the Protea Hotel, Benin City ahead of the September 10 polls.

According to the coordinator, Augusta Peter of Eggheads Limited, “we have put together a platform for the people of Edo State to know their governorship candidates, their vision for the state and to decide their governor.

“The debate is designed to help the people make informed decision.”

Peter added: “People are agitated and want things to improve. We cannot solve a problem with the same approach, same thinking we used when we created them. We must get to know them, their competencies and pedigree.

“The election is taking place this year and the Edo people are eager to know what the gubernatorial candidates from the different parties have to offer before they can make their choices,” Peter stated.

She said the exercise aims at ascertaining which of the aspirants has an in-depth knowledge of the issues facing the state and could lead the people progressively.

“We are looking for people with true passion, capacity to run and grow the state at The Mandate,” Peter stated.
