The Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) will, today, hold a one-day summit on internally generated revenue (IGR).
Chairman of ESIRS, Prince Emeka Odo, said the summit would bring together top government functionaries and technocrats to formulate and agree on strategies to achieve Enugu State government’s N34 billion IGR target as captured in the 2022 budget.
Odo, who disclosed that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi would declare the summit open, added that those to attend the event include the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, his budget counterpart, Special Adviser to the Governor on Financial Matters, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance and the Accountant General of the state.
Others are the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Economic Planning Commission, Chairman of ESIRS, directors of the service, Permanent Secretary and Directors of Finance of revenue generating ministries and agencies, as well as the registrars and bursar of all state-owned tertiary institutions, among others.
He pointed out that the summit is being organised by ESIRS in collaboration with the Enugu State Economic Planning Commission.
