Samuel L Jackson receives his first awards at the 94th Oscars ceremony.

The well deserved award comes years after Jackson has proved himself in the industry with over 100 featured films with iconic roles. 

The 73 year old, clinching his honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement presented to him by his pal Denzel Washinghton who introduced him by saying ” Let me tell you something: We go back so far,” Washington said, noting Jackson’s career achievements before running through a laundry list of organizations to which his fellow actor and activist donates his energy. “I don’t know what y’all been doing, but that’s what he’s been doing.”

Jackson then in his speech said “Thanks to every person who has ever bought a ticket to any movie I was in.”
