Police nab eight suspected kidnappers in Rivers

Operatives of Rivers State Command have arrested four kidnap kingpins terrorising Egwi-Etche and environs of Etche Local Council of the state.  
  
The four suspects ran out of luck when they abducted a Pastor, Jeremiah Atelibo, of Salvation Ministry Church Port Harcourt on February 28, 2022.
  
According to the acting Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Grace Iringe-Koko, police operatives using artificial intelligence were able to locate their hideout and arrested four suspects.
 
She said the suspects, namely; Barisi Yikes, 31, Chinedu Simeon, 28, Justice Obodo, 32, and one Jeffrey, 28, were arrested and their victim Jeremiah successfully rescued unhurt, adding that a locally-made pistol with three live cartridges was recovered from them, among other exhibits.

IN a related development the operatives, following a report of kidnap of one Karibo Awantaye, male,  a bolt driver along Rumubiakani in Eneka road in Obio/Akpor Local Council on March 19, swung into action and the kidnappers were traced and given a hot chase.
 
Iringe-Koko narrated that on sighting the police, a gun duel ensued with the kidnappers and two of the suspects were fatally wounded.

She said the victim was rescued unhurt along with his Toyota Corolla vehicle marked AKD 914 DL and  the ransom money, while other assorted charms were equally recovered at the scene. 
 
She added that efforts are on to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects.
