The Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) has said that within the space of 17 months, it was able to produce results of value addition to the institute, using a short and medium-term approach.

President and Chairman of Governing Council, NITAD, Ayoade Igbeyi, said this during the institute’s 26th yearly general meeting in Lagos.

She said the activities, which included implementing a strategic plan to grow the institute, enhancing its brand identity, members’ engagement and shoring up its revenue profile, among others, were strategically managed by a committed team, using short, medium and long-term approach.

Stating some of the achievements using the short and medium term approach, numbering 27 items during the period, she said the long-term strategy known as “Consolidation 22/24”, will have to do with actualisation of the charter bill, physical possession of Ikorodu land and NITAD permanent site/office.

While commending members for their unwavering support and God that saw them through, she said when she took over as president of the ninth council, the administration started at ‘ground zero’, but could boast as all events were not held at a deficit but surplus.

On membership drive, she said it would continue, stating that state branches would be opened, adding that national spread is a must, while revenue generation, a lifeline, which could not be ignored.

She commended the resilience of its forebears, whom she said worked assiduously at bringing more members on board the NITAD train. She urged members to tighten their shoes to run the race of survival of the institute. Igbeyi warned that never again should members vote nor support those who are self-serving.

She also warned of bringing to book, state branch or national officers misappropriating funds and operating outside the constitution.
