The Police High Command has ordered the mobilisation and deployment of adequate police personnel and tools for the governorship election in Ekiti.
He stressed that Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), technical capabilities of the Police Airwing, the Force Marine, Mounted Troops, K-9 Section, and other operational assets have been deployed for the gubernatorial elections slated for June 18, 2022.
MEANWHILE, the Police officers allegedly identified in the shooting incident at Club Cubana in Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday, June 8, have been arrested and are being investigated for their involvement in the incident.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, who described the circumstances surrounding the incident as unbelievable, condemned it, in the strongest terms.
Police’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, yesterday, said the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and forward his report as quickly as possible for further action.
