The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has called on Twitter to delete a fake account impersonating him.

The popular clergy who is known for his humanitarian works including rendering assistance to Debora Yakubu’s family, a young Christian lady who was lynched in Sokoto by her classmates who stoned her to death, is said to be impersonated on Twitter with the handle @PstChibuzorGift and having over 13.5k followers before the attention of the church was drawn to it.

A statement by the Media Director of OPM, Frank Laga and made available to The Guardian in PortHarcourt, said, “The church confirms the fake account is being used by scammers to defraud the general public”.

The statement reads, “The fraudsters whose fake Twitter handle is @PstChibuzorGift has over 13.5k followers before the attention of the church was drawn to it. Apostle Chinyere regrets that many people around the world might have been scammed using the fake account”.

“Apostle Chinyere is a man of God who has been known worldwide for his humanitarian works and who with OPM offers services free of charge to humanity.

“It is pertinent to state here that the man of God does not in any way get himself involved in politics let alone twitting on the just concluded Ekiti State gubernatorial election as claimed by those impersonating him using the fake Twitter account”.

“The church, therefore, uses this medium to inform the world that Apostle Chinyere’s verified Twitter handle is @daddyopm.

The man of God has also promised to continue to serve God and humanity with the resources that comes into the church through tithes and offerings”.
