In fact, worry and anxiety are evidence of lack of faith and believe in God’s word. They give their victims high blood pressure and heart-related diseases.
Those who dwell in worry and anxiety compound their cases and this is an open show of lack of trust in God’s ability to provide for our needs. Confession of faith is not evidence of possession of faith! The test of faith, most times, proves otherwise. A man, who worries in the face of seeming obstacles, has shown that he is a Gentile. Worry and anxiety are associated with the Gentiles of this world who do not know God. Those who trust in God are not moved when problems threaten their faith.
The Lord knows that man lacks the ability to proffer solutions to his needs. Little wonder He commanded believers to put their trust in Him for He cares for them. Worry and anxiety breed terminal sicknesses that lead to death. The Lord, in different passages of the scriptures, enjoins His followers not to be disturbed by life issues, but rather table them before Him in prayers. This is because worries affect one’s peace. Indeed, prayers are the antidotes to these monsters. Instead of worry and anxiety, we should go to the Lord in prayers and let Him know the troubles on the ground.
In addition, Christians should be careful to avoid agents of worry and anxiety. There are friends who are sources of worry and anxiety. As believers, we must avoid such friends. They have nothing to contribute to your life, rather they are carriers of evil messages that sap spiritual contents. Their words are cankers that destroy the soul. Moreover, we must not undertake some tasks or ventures that are beyond our reach. This will enable us to avoid unwarranted agitations.
The Lord uses little birds to teach us what it means to trust in Him for our supplies. These birds do not sow, but they are well fed and taken care of. The Lord provides for them as little as they appear insignificant, least of all, man!
Man struggles unnecessarily with burdens he cannot bear. Man has no ‘shoulders’ to carry these burdens. These loads are unnecessary in the sight of God who has volunteered to carry it on our behalf. The Lord has the capacity to carry our burdens with ease. Those who think and worry as a result of their burdens lack understanding because worry and anxiety cannot produce any solution to problems.
Worry and anxiety drive away God’s presence. Whenever they are in a man’s life, God takes His leave. God cannot dwell in a life that is saturated with worry and anxiety.
Put your trust in God today, and you will not regret what you did.
