Alabi, Adekola, others urge Christians to pray for divine intervention

Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, has called on Christians across the country to pray for the rescue of the country from the grip of the devil.

Alabi, was represented by the Chairman, Irepodun Local Council Transition Implementation Committee, Jide Oyinloye at the Second Session of the 8th Synod of Igbomina Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) held at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Arandun in Irepodun Local Council of Kwara State, called on the Church and genuine children of God to rise as soldiers of Christ to rescue the world and Nigeria from the stronghold of darkness and agents of the devil.

In his charge, the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekola advised Christians to endure persecution and hardship, adding that Christians wrestle against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places.

The Bishop enjoined Christians to use the power of prayers and also their votes to choose the right leaders for the country.

Meanwhile, Canon Paul Falusi who preached at the opening session of the Synod explained that Satan engaged the powers of unrighteous, worldliness, fornication, adultery and disunity to deal with the Church, saying that Christians must work as a team and pray fervently to overcome the devil.

In their separate remarks, Bishop of Owo Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Steven Fagbemi and Bishop of Omu-Aran, Rt. Rev. Festus Sobanke enjoined the Church to seek God through prayers, so, as to help subdue enemies of the Church.

(Dr.) Akanbi; Jebba Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Oluwaseun Aderogba; the Royal Father of the day, Alaran of Arandun, Oba Ibikunle Adekanye, among others.
