Tambele is a potential hit that music lovers would like. The groovy song is one of the songs to be released in a yet-to-be-released album.
According to the sonorous musician, Jemiriye, Tambele came as an answer to questions the musician grappled with after losing, both her god-daughter and god-mother within the same month of July, a tough period for the US-based musician.
Tambele, which has powerful lyrics, was produced in four different countries and on three continents of USA, France, Amsterdam and Nigeria. Produced by Olatunde Obajeun and mixed/ mastered by Julien Cox at Jewels 412, the song was recorded in Pittsburgh USA.
Speaking on the track, she said, “July was tough, first I lost my beautiful beloved goddaughter Funmilola to sickle cell, and my godmother Mama K.
“Then I travelled from the USA to France, Monaco and Croatia trying to distract myself from the pains.
“I finally found some answers in my soon-to-be-released music titled Tambele, (Happiness is Free). This song is for you, it’s for me, I choose happiness, I’m still broken, but amidst all this I choose to rise above these, and I hope you feel the same strength this song has given me,” she said.
Having released My Body, Lagos and Saami Iye in 2020 during COVID-19, the African queen of songs is growing in leaps and bounds in her music career, performing in great concerts and music festivals.
As a Nigeria Idol 2012 finalist, Jemiriye brings every sense of freshness and energy to the Afrosoul genre of music, which has morphed the traditional cockney diction into a one-size-fits-all urban patois, her unique selling point lies in her vocal technique of singing the notes and chords like a Nightingale in the quiet of the mornings and effortlessly jumping octaves.
She uses this vocal dexterity like a lasso, to draw us in, to create a sense of intimacy, to turn the emotional dial all the way up to tear-jerking.
