APC women in politics inaugurate representatives in Lagos, plan strategies to mobilise for polls
The factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Segun Showunmi, has said nobody has enough resources to buy him off the ballot in the 2023 elections.

He also dispelled rumours that he was being sponsored by certain interests to scuttle the chances of the party, insisting that the primary election conducted by Adebutu’s camp could not stand and that the one that produced him (Showunmi) as candidate followed all the rules.

Showunmi said that contrary to mischievous reports that he was being paid by some political leaders to cause crisis in the state chapter of the PDP, his ambition was built on improving the socio-economic condition of the state.

He said it was not only irritating, but also insulting, for anyone to insinuate that he lacked the capacity to run a good campaign.

He insisted that he remained the only experienced and qualified candidate to administer the affairs of the state at this time.

IN another development, hundreds of women from all tribes in Nigeria have converged on Lagos to synergise and mobilise support for APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; his running mate, Kashim Shettima; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

The group, under the auspices of APC Nigeria Women in Politics (ANWIP), was constituted to deploy strategies to penetrate the grassroots to garner support ahead of the 2023 polls.

The convener, Bola Kazeem, who spoke during the ANWIP inauguration and mobilisation of women, said APC women mobilisers, captains of industry and professionals in various fields of endeavour across the country have come together to synergise and contribute to the victory of the party.

She said that the group had been launched in Abuja early this year and it would be launched in all the 36 states with the view to mobilise women from the nooks and crannies of the country to support the APC to victory in 2023.

She solicited the involvement of ANWIP in various campaign programmes and engagement of the party at various levels.
