Minister of State for Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, yesterday, said that the Federal Government had concluded arrangements to close Tiga Bridge which has been washed away by the recent flood that affected some local councils in the state.

Adamu, who spoke during a joint assessment visit to Tiga and Bagauda Dams respectively with the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, also explained that the closure of Gadar Sarkin Kogi in Bebeji Local Council has become imperative in ensuring safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

He said the spillway at the two dams was functioning properly, debunking the rumours being spread by some mischief-makers that the flood had affected Tiga and Bagauda dams.

Meanwhile, Ganduje, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, assured of the commitment of the government towards ensuring the protection of the life and property of the citizens.

He, therefore, urged the public to desist from spreading fake stories of incidents that have not occurred.
