President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Major General Barry Ndiomu as the interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, announced Ndiomu’s appointment in a press statement on Thursday.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (retd) as Interim Administrator of the Amnesty Programme.” Adesina said
Ndiomu, who hails from Odoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, is replacing Milland Dixon Dikio as the Amnesty Office Boss.
Adesina however did not disclose the reasons for Dikio’s replacement.
He noted that Ndiomu was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1983 where he held several command and staff appointments in the course of his successful military career and he retired in December 2017.
“Gen Ndiomu also trained as a lawyer, and is an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry, Harvard Kennedy School, and George C Marshall Centre for European Security Studies, among others,” Adesina added.
