A not-for-profit organisation, Worship for Change, has concluded plans to raise N75 million through its forthcoming concert to support charity projects across the country.
The convener of the organisation, Wale Adenuga, disclosed this ahead of the concert scheduled to hold on October 3, 2022, tagged, “Green Worship 5.0.”
This comes as Adenuga called on the business community, professionals and other well-meaning Nigerians to support people with special needs with nothing attached. He observed that most Nigerians do not give if there is ‘show’ around it.
Adenuga said the concert is planned to promote awareness and support for impoverished children, orphans and children with special needs while inculcating the habit of giving willingly among Nigerians.
The organisation has raised over N75 million since 2006 with the proceeds channeled to the needs of five are A.I.M. Special Children Centre (Kaduna); Pure Souls Learning Foundation, Red Dot Foundation (Anambra), The Leprosy Mission Nigeria and The Let Cerebral Palsy Kids Learn Foundation (Lagos).
Part of the previous support extended to The Leprosy Mission was used to transform the organisation’s facility in Osun State, enhancing the children’s access to basic needs previously lacking.
He said the organisation would continue its fundraising activities throughout October while soliciting donations.
Representing the beneficiaries, the founder of Puresouls Learning Foundation, Mrs. Dotun Akande commended the initiative, while calling for media support through enlightenment and highlighting the challenges faced by children with special needs.
Also, the Founder of Let Cerebral Palsy Kids Learn Foundation, Tobiloba Ajayi, said the partnership with the organisation over 16 years has yielded positive results, as over 500 families with children with cerebral palsy have been engaged.
