Don’t incite violence with utterances, actions, Kola-Daisi tells politicians
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, has said that Nigeria needs a decisive president in 2023 to hit the ground running and address the challenges besetting the country.
Ayorinde, who spoke with The Guardian at his Jericho Ibadan home, said it was imperative to elect a president that would do things differently.
He said it would not augur well if the next president had to wait for six months before appointing his ministers.
IN another development, Oyo South Senatorial District candidate on the platform of Accord Party (AP) for 2023 polls, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, has urged politicians campaigning for elections not to incite violence with their utterances and action, saying no life is worth losing because of elections.
Kola-Daisi gave the charge, at the weekend, while speaking with journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. He, therefore, urged politicians to be models for the young ones to emulate.
He said: “We should be role models. We must make sure we present ourselves in the best way. It will be a great disservice if we exhibit what the children cannot emulate.
“This our society is very small and we know one another. It is important we respect one another. Only one person can win at a time.
“In our words and actions, we should not incite.
“No life is worth losing or injured because of such a cause.
“If it is truly about service and people of the state, everyone should please be careful. Not only in our words, also in our action. We must not incite any form of violence.”
