Currie Franklin Oluwasegun is one the young and vibrant content creators, rocking the industry at the moment. The Ijebu Ososa, Ogun State-born businessman is the Chief Executive Officer of Kiraa TV, one of the wave making entertainment platforms creating and promoting contents that puts the Nigerian culture on the map. In this exclusive chat with our correspondent, the CEO speaks at length on how he formed Kiraa TV three years back, among other interesting issues you need to know about the brand. Can you tell us more about yourself?
My name is CURRIE FRANKLIN OLUWASEGUN.

How did you come about the brand Kiraa TV?
The name was coined some years back. I went to Lagbaja show and jokingly they were hailing me in Yoruba language ( e Kira fun baba ), so I picked out the name kira from the hailing, it looks short and funny.

What really motivated you before floating the brand?
I love entertainment and it’s in my blood. My dad started a movie cinema back in the early 70’s in Abeokuta back, and I think that’s where the passion came from.

Which year did you kick off operation?
We officially started in 2019 and we thank God for where we are today.

What is the mission and vision of the station?
Our mission statement is to create and promote contents that puts the Nigerian culture on the map of the world’s entertainment from a new perspective, While the Vision statement is CORE VALUES THAT DEFINES US. We appreciate the historical heritage of Africa at large and Nigeria in particular. Thus, we create and promote mind blowing and sensational contents from an exciting viewpoint.

Can you share with us some of the challenges the station is facing since you started operating?
A lot of challenges. So many unloyal people around me, because I believe in loyalty, then some people are so unprofessional and it upsets.

Have you been able to overcome it?
Little by little because it’s not easy especially in the industry, we can’t overcome all in a day.

Kiraa TV is located at Ososa Ogun state, why did you make that location your number one choice?
We believe teathre started from there, and i feel starting from the existing protocol of where it started from is a good thing too.

What’s the relationship Kiraa TV has with Ipara Remo, Ogun State?
my mum is from Ipara Remo.

How many movies has Kiraa TV produced?
So many movies.

What is the current project(s) Kiraa TV is working on?
We are working on a project at the moment that wil promote our art and culture. People should just wait for It, I promise you it’s going to be nice.

Years to come, where do you intend to see Kiraa TV?
One of the biggest TV platforms that showcase Great movies, indigenous art and cultures.
