Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, yesterday, urged relevant stakeholders, especially licensees of the communication, to comply with mandatory regulatory requirements for the development of the country.

Danbatta, who was represented at the ongoing two-day Talk-To-The Regulator Forum for 2022, holding in Ibadan Oyo State, by Director, Licensing and Authorisation, Mohammed Babajika, said adhering to licence conditions would safeguard fair competition and preserve the dynamism of the communications industry in Nigeria.

He said the purpose of the forum was to see whether the licensees are cooperating with the mandate given to them and how NCC could be of assistance for better customer services.

According to him, there were glaring interconnection indebtedness in the industry, which the commission understands and assured the stakeholders that the issues would be resolved in due time.

He, however, urged the service providers to ensure that they cooperate within the mandate of their licences and not do things outside the scope of their licences.

“The NCC, in keeping with its mandate, creates opportunities to interact with its licensees on industry issues and new trends via stakeholder fora, with a view to gathering relevant information that would further advance the development of the industry, while improving regulations and service delivery to telecom consumers,” he said.
