Why peace will remain elusive in the world — GKS President

Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun

The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), The Church of The Living God, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun has stated that man’s search for peace and safety will continue to be elusive because most political and religious leaders in the world do not reckon with the Almighty God, Who alone has the answers to the problems of mankind. Brother Adedokun said this while addressing GKS faithful at the Freedom Day Divine Services in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

With theme: “Will The World Ever Know Peace and Safety?”, the GKS president noted that man’s efforts to bring about lasting peace on earth will continue to fail and will always be met with gross disappointment and shame because human beings have rejected the word of the Lord.

He disclosed that the setting up of the League of Nations; the United Nations; the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Peace and Security Summits; the stockpiling of nuclear and conventional weapons as deterrents to wars, among others, have failed to bring about the much needed peace and safety to the world.

The GKS President stressed that while those who are righteous will enjoy relative peace and safety in this world, perfect peace and safety will only come when the Kingdom of God is fully established in the world.

According to him, at that time the Almighty God through Jesus Christ would have destroyed Satan, the Devil and his agents.

At the Freedom Day Divine Service held at the Church headquarters, Salem City, Warri, Brother Oferi Martins Ewharekuko, a Minister of the Church, delivered the sermon for the day entitled: “Was Christ Born On Christmas Day?”

Other highlights of the celebration included musical presentations by the GKS Choir, Warri as well as various choral groups in the Church.

The occasion was attended by government officials, traditional rulers and members of the public among whom were the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Rural and Community Development, Dr. Emmanuel O. Okoro; member of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Mr. Paul Bebenimibo; and former Commissioner for Finance, Delta State, Mr. Love Ojakovo.

GKS has been observing this ceremony in October since its inception in the early 1930s.
