Members of Lagos State Parks Administration (LSPA) have lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the appointment of Oniba Ekun of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Adesina, as the caretaker committee chairman of LSPA.

They also expressed satisfaction over the administration of Oba Adesina, saying it had boosted the welfare of members and brought sanity to their operations.

The LSPA workers, who spoke during a stakeholders’ meeting in Akesan area of Lagos, noted that peace and harmony had been restored to the union after the dissolution of the immediate past administration of Alhaji Musa Muhammed.

In their presentation, the Zonal Chairman of Surulere, Alhaji Enilari Rauf and Zonal Chairman of Badagry Zone 2, Alhaji Adeyemi Arigbagunwo, claimed that the past administration overstayed in office, adding that it allegedly denied members access to proper welfare.

They also said that members of the union were shortchanged in the revenue distribution for the development of the association. The members claimed that the past administration was self-centered, especially in the area of outrageous levies, corruption, harassment by private security officials, which also led to frequent fracas around Surulere, Ojo, Iyana Iba and Lagos Island, among others.

Oba Adesina, who enjoined members of the LSPA to return to their duty posts and remain good and law-abiding citizens, charged the union to embrace peace and shun actions that can truncate the welfare of the masses.

The monarch reiterated members’ commitment towards supporting all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election, adding that LSPA affairs are in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of Sanwo-Olu.
