Real estate firm moves to reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit

Nigeria, home to about 250 million people and the most populous black nation is experiencing an increase in the number of homeless people as the country records a high housing deficit which according to the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) now sits at 28 million.

In an effort to reduce this housing deficit, Chateau Royal Real Estate Limited is making moves to make housing affordable so that many Nigerians including low and middle-income earners can have access to safe and sustainable communities with good treated water supply to prevent water-borne infections and proper waste disposal systems to promote a healthy life and create protected spaces for women, children, and senior citizens.

According to the Company’s Managing Director, Oluwatobi Osonuga, while some believe that the real estate sector is a competitive space, they do not have competitors, but partners in progress as they all have a common goal to make sure every household in Nigeria has a home.

While some companies build affordable homes, others build luxurious homes. There is a market for everyone and we are all co-existing in it.
He emphasised the importance of Insurance for the developer and the investor alike which offers material and financial protection against domestic hazards and urged investors to seek out suitable home insurance policies.

He explained that the firm’s estate, Mc Laurels, located at Ketu, Epe, is a way the company ensures affordable housing.
The estate, which currently goes for N1.6 million for 500 Square meters, would be equipped with streetlights light, perimeter fencing, portable water, security, good roads and others.

Explaining how the firm operates Osonuga said, “Our Estates are developed within 12 months and our clients are allocated within six months of full payment. We are a customer-centric organization and we make sure to provide each client with a royal experience even if he or she is just making an inquiry.  Our clients are the reason we are in business hence their satisfaction is our priority. We aim to demystify the concept that purchasing real estate is a rigorous process. With Chateau Royal, you will have a seamless experience from start to finish.”
