Submission: God’s Way To Peace

THE problems of man from ages have been as a result of his disobedient to his Creator. The problem of war, global economics recession, insurgency and epidemic are all the effects of man’s disobedient to His Maker. Whenever man deviates from the godly ordained pathway of life, God always will take away his peace. This has been the practice from the time man was placed in the Garden of Eden till date. It does not matter how close man or nation is to God, but if he sins God will trade away his peace. It took the Children of Israel, God’s own people four hundred years to be able to complete a journey of forty years, because of sin. It was when they submitted their allegiance to God Almighty that they were allowed to enter into the Promised Land. The principle of cause and effect to make man be submissive to Him was designed by God so that the absolute peace He destined for man will be restored.

IBRU Pastor Lazarus CopyTHE problems of man from ages have been as a result of his disobedient to his Creator.

When Adam and Eve sinned, God did not waste time to evoke His principle of cause and effect in order to bring man back to the roadmap of peace. When they sinned and lose track of the pathway to the Promised Land, God discomforted them and allowed them to wander in the desert until they repented and peace was restored to them.

Judges 6: 1-3 “And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. 2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds 3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them”

In the context above, Israel’s sin was renewed, and Israel’s troubles were repeated. Thus the Israelites hid themselves in dens and caves as a result of the effect of their sin. The invaders left no food for Israel, except what was taken into the caves. There was no peace in Israel throughout the invasion until they repented and submitted themselves to God again. For man or nation to enjoy the peace of God, he must as a necessity submits himself to the authority of God, for total submission is the only roadmap to peace.

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. If we are to have peace in business, families and in this country, we must submit to God’s government and authority, to His commanding, providential and disposing will. We must submit ourselves to the guidance of His word, to the direction of His Spirit, to the conduct of His providence. We must submit our whole selves to the whole law of God. If we must have peace all our thoughts, affections, words, and actions, must be guided according to the strict rules of the word of God.

The turmoil the world and particularly our nation are experiencing today is nothing but the effect of our inability to submit to the Almighty God. Atrocities and abomination have become the order of the day. But not until we retrace our footsteps from doing evil peace will continue to elude us. If we live as directed by the word of God and submit to His authority, we shall find it profitable and peaceable in this present world and in the world to come. Let’s therefore begin to resist every satanic temptation that could make us enemies of the authority of God, so that our peace will not continue to be endangered. Amidst the storms and tempests of the world, there is a perfect peace in the hearts of those, who not only do the will of God, not only love to do it but have submitted all to the Lord. They are at peace with God, with themselves and with all men. No external troubles can rob them of this great peace.
