Obayendo sworn in as second president of CIOTA

Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) has sworn in Segun Obayendo as the second president of the institute that was founded in 1986 and chartered in 2019.

The swearing-in held at the fourth National Transport Summit of CIOTA with the theme, ‘Transport Safety and Security Administration in Nigeria.’

In his inaugural speech, Obayendo, who is the pioneer Managing Director of Lagos Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS), lauded the achievements of the past executives while affirming his dedication to building on their legacy.

Obayendo gave his word to make CIOTA a force; so, he will work tirelessly to ensure the institute gains acceptance in the country’s transport sector and will never deviate from his manifesto.

He commended the efforts of the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASSA), Bashir Jamoh, for the use of technology to reduce piracy in the maritime sector.

Other members of the executive committee sworn in alongside Obayendo are Umar lya (Deputy National President), Philips Okoronkwo (National Secretary), Musa Jimoh (Assistant National Secretary), Felicia Mfon (National Financial Secretary), Ganiyu Jimba (National Treasurer), Chinwe Uwaegbute (National Publicity Secretary), Aminu Muktar (National Auditor) and Adewale Abdullahi (National Provost).
