Yokinto… Love memoirs from pop maverick

YokintoWhen you hear the name Yokinto, it gives off the impression of a Japanese samurai or monk. However, for the young Nigerian pop maverick, Yokinto is an Asian term for Love, a reality he continues to bask in and express.

In his latest music offering dubbed, Erotica Lady, Yokinto tows this same path, crafting a heartfelt narrative on romantic love. He catches up with Guardian to talk about this new adventure, as well as his blooming career.

Congrats on the new song. What inspired it?
Erotica Lady was inspired and written through life experiences with a little bit of fiction. It was when I found out that the reality of transanctional sex had overshadowed true love. It broke my heart and music is the only way I can express that pain.

When did you start singing?
I officially started music in my early teen stage.
