49-year-old man hangs self in Oyo

A 49-year-old man, identified as Ayo committed suicide by hanging himself in his house, located at Apake area, near Okelerin Baptist Basic School, Ogbomoso in the early hours of Wednesday.

A 49-year-old man, identified as Ayo committed suicide by hanging himself in his house, located at Apake area, near Okelerin Baptist Basic School, Ogbomoso in the early hours of Wednesday.

It was gathered that the trailer driver’s corpse was discovered around 9:30 a.m.

Residents of the area told The Guardian that the deceased was seen in the morning with a friend he saw off at about 7:39 a.m. before the incident and he left no suicide note behind to explain the cause of his action.

A source said: “People even saw him this morning with a friend he saw off.”
“He was about 49 years old and was yet to marry. He was a trailer driver.”

“Some of his family members we learnt came to visit him early this year and joked that they must see his child this year.

The incident has been reported at Owode police station in Ogbomoso and the body was evacuated by the authorities.

The Guardian was yet to get a reaction from the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Adewale Osifeso on the incident.
