Adebutu promises to grant autonomy to councils, donates transformers

Governorship candidate of Ogun chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election, Oladipo Adebutu, has donated three units of 500 KVA transformers to Obafemi Owode Local Government.

Adebutu made the donations during his campaign at the council on Saturday, where he also promised to add 10 more units of similar capacity transformers, if elected governor on March 11.

The former member of House of Representatives, said the gesture was part of his promises and determination, to address issue of poor electricity supply to areas that are lacking in Ogun State if he assume office.

The campaign train first stopped at Mowe Market, where Adebutu met and addressed leaders of marker women (Iyaloja), traditional rulers, youths, students and representatives of various associations, which include; hairdressers association, Muslim community, Christian associations, tailor association among others.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate promised to create empowerment programmes for all, give support for education and business growth, if elected.

He also promised to solve security issues affecting the council by providing security personnel, adequate support and incentives, just as he said that his administration will appropriately resolve challenges of unemployment confronting the youths.

The audience responded by promising to support and to canvass for Adebutu and other PDP candidates.

The campaign train moved to Sote Community, Obafemi Owode LGA where Adebutu commissioned another transformer.

Adebutu also recapitulate his ITURA DE Agenda with the community.

He re-emphasised the need and for local government autonomy, which he said would facilitate economic and development to states.

According to him, “One of the agendas of PDP candidates in Ogun including myself is to fight for autonomy of local government if we are elected. Local governments will definitely enjoy and be granted autonomy under my watch.”

He also proceeded to Balogun in Owode Egba from where he moved to Alowonle, Adigbe and Oba. He donated another 500KVA transformer.

The event had in attendance the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele, the Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, the Federal House of Representatives Candidate, Rt. Hon. Yemi Coker, the State House of Assembly candidate, Hon. John Tosin, party leaders and other PDP stakeholders across the state.
