Identifying your destiny location (1)

John Okene
Every man has a destiny and it is important you know yours. It is also important for you to understand that you have destiny helpers and know who they are.

This knowledge will, however, be useless to you if you fail to know your destiny location. When God calls a man, He calls him to a specific location, which could either be spiritual or geographic. Not being able to understand the importance of a location can frustrate a man or group of people in life. A piece of raw gold may not be as valuable as the refined one when displayed in a high-class jewellery shop or worn on the neck of a great queen. Location can add value or devalue a thing or a person. Some people have even lost their lives because they were at the wrong location.

In Jer. 18:2, we saw that God wanted to speak to Jeremiah, but He had to ask him to go down to the potter’s house. In the same vein, there are certain things God might want to tell you, but He will want you to be in the church. If you don’t have the understanding, you will miss it.

In Gen. 12:1-3, God wanted to bless Abraham, so, He told him that his blessing was not in the location of his father’s house. He had to leave his community to the place where God directed him. There are several instances in the Bible, of people that God relocated knowingly or unknowingly for them to fulfil their purposes.

Joseph was relocated as a slave to Egypt, but there, he became great and fulfilled his destiny. Esther was taken captive to Shushan where God turned all her miseries for her good. She became the queen and second most influential person in the world as at that time.

Again, Moses had to relocate to Egypt after the burning bush encounter to fulfill his purpose of leading the Israelites out of captivity. The blind man in Mark 8:22-26 was in a town called Bethsaida. Jesus did not heal him there, but took him out of that city to be healed. After the miracle, he was told not to return to that city. Jerusalem was the forwarding address for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told his disciples to converge and wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father (Luke 24: 49).

If they had waited elsewhere, they would never have received the Holy Ghost, as we can see in Acts 2:1-2. From that day, they started manifesting their ministerial calling fully. • Rev. John Okene, Divine Touch Int’l Ministries, Warri, Delta State. [email protected] Prayer line: +2348135952623

There is a place called Jerusalem where God has ordained to bless and launch you to your greatness, may you not miss it in Jesus name.

Another interesting character that God directed step-by-step was Elijah, 1Kgs 17:2-9. When there was trouble in the land, God directed him to a brook for safety and provision. When the brook dried up, God further directed him to Zarephath to be cared for by a widow. He could have died before his time. May God direct you today out of trouble to your place of greatness in Jesus’ name.
