IPMAN suspends lifting, sale of petrol over losses in Borno, Yobe
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has suspended lifting and sells of petroleum products in Borno and Yobe states.
According to the association, the suspension was as a result of losses incurred by oil marketers in Damaturu and Maiduguri, the states’ capitals.
Chairman of IPMAN, Mohammed Kuluma, yesterday, in Maiduguri, said: “Following the critical situation as it affects our sourcing and selling of petroleum products, our members are selling at losses.
“The action of the authority has forced us to sell our products at losses.”
The association warned that the situation could not be sustained in the distribution and sale of petroleum products.
He, therefore, directed members to suspend lifting and sell of products in all filling stations in the two states.
He added that the suspension includes payments for ordering of products from source until further notice from the association.
