
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ifeanyi Okowa, casting his vote for the presidential and senatorial elections at his Polling Unit 017/ Ward002, Eghoma, Primary School, Owa-Alero, Ika North East in Delta State…yesterday.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote at 9.45 a.m. at his Ward 2, Unit 17 at Eghoma Primary School, Owa-Alero in Ika North Council, Okowa commended INEC for the conduct of the election and the electorate for their orderliness, expressing optimism the PDP would emerge victorious at the end of the day.
He stressed that his party was ready to recover and redeem Nigeria from alleged misrule by the APC government.
“We thank God that we have large crowd here. The reports we are getting is that the elections is very peaceful and everything is working. We definitely are certain that the PDP will win the elections nationally, as we have put in a lot of work. We believe in what we have spoken to Nigerians.
“We are not deceitful to Nigerians, we are well prepared to take charge over the affairs of Nigeria. We know exactly that at the moment Nigeria is not working the way it ought to but we are confident that working with all Nigerians in the private and public sector and all people across Nigeria, we going to win.
“In a united manner, we will tackle all issues of insecurity and unemployment. We are poised to bring forth a Nigeria that people would be proud of,” he stated.
He lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring a level-playing ground for all parties involved in the elections, expressing pleasure over reports of peace in voting centres across the state.
At Akumzi in Ika North East Council, voting was smooth and peaceful.
Commissioner for information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, while expressing optimism that PDP will be victorious, commended the electoral body and the electorate for orderly conduct of the polls?
Speaking at Ward 7, Units 1 at Umuocha Primary School, Aniagwu said PDP was looking forward to victory.
At Ward 1, Unit 1, Kanidimma primary school, Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North local council, voting was stopped midway into the exercise when it was discovered that results sheets were not provided.
