The Spiritual Mother of Ebenezer Praying Band Church, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos, Dr. El Miriam Akinwande has urged Christians to be ready for the Lord’s coming.

Speaking on the theme: ‘The Great King is Coming,’ Akinwande said the 2016 convention focused on the imminent second coming of Jesus Christ, because all the signs mentioned in the Bible are manifesting around the world, and in different forms.

She said: “Jesus the great king will appear with His holy angels. He will call all nations before Him and start to sort out the people. The righteous will go to His right hand, while the wicked will go to His left and perish. As stated in the Bible, the judgment will be based on the care you give to the needy. All will account for their deeds.”

The chairperson, Mrs. Olayemi Sofola, who urged Christians to be very watchful and prayerful in their endeavours, said they should also mind the company they keep and be wise in their doings.

“It is important that we examine ourselves, watch and pray,” she said. “Jesus is the answer to all of life’s needs. The church today is made up of two categories of people — the wise and the foolish. The foolish ones are too familiar with the things of God and nothing moves them. As believers, we must endeavour to keep our oil burning at all times.
