Secretary of the Association, Mojisola Aluko, said the objective of the programme was to enhance grassroots sports development through discovery and grooming of talented students.
She said this became compulsory in consonance with the state government’s sports mandate of making Lagos a sports hub in Africa.Aluko added that the Under-17 Judo Slam Championship would serve as an avenue for the Association to keep a tab on the strength, level of preparedness and scout for prospects to replenish the pool of athletes in judo from both the public and private primary, junior and secondary schools.
