Ugwubujor was on his way home after work when the incident occurred. Narrating his experience, he said: “The staff vehicle dropped me off at about 10: 00 p.m. on the fateful day at the flyover, popularly known as Oshodi Oke. As I was trying to make my way across the road, three hoodlums immediately placed a knife on my neck and asked me to produce my phone and every cash on me.”
Ugwubujor said he complied out of fear of being harmed by the miscreants. He said: “I was so afraid that the hoodlums might stab me. With a knife on my neck, I was dislodged. I just had to cooperate. They collected my phone and asked me to give them the password. I received some punches when I hesitated, and some more when I gave them a wrong password.
“They threatened to kill me if I gave them a wrong password one more time. I had to release the password.
“I blocked my phone line with my wife’s phone when I got home. I guess that was late because I discovered in the morning that my account had been tampered with. They had withdrawn a balance of N30, 000 in the account.”
